MW3101 Midwifery Care 1: Intro to Midwifery
This course includes an introduction to the guiding principles, philosophy and values of the Midwives Model of Care™, an introduction to cultural competency, and an overview of the midwife's role throughout the childbearing year. Basic principles of client education and health literacy are covered. The course also includes an introduction to the professional roles, responsibilities and legal issues of midwifery, as well as national and local midwifery organizations.
