TR9111 Energy balance, Metabolic, Behavioral and Social Health

This course focuses on the challenges raised by current international and national trends in body weight management. The class is based upon a broad survey of research that focuses on the underlying genetic, biologic and environmental contributors that affect energy balance. The course includes an evaluation of the efficacy of dietary, pharmacologic and surgical approaches and examines consequences of body weight on health, medical costs and quality of life as well as its associations with public health policy, the media and environment.
