Master’s and Doctoral Students
Minimum Requirements
To be fully admitted to a master’s degree program at Bastyr University, students must meet the following criteria:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree1 from a college or university recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), and the U.S. Department of Education.2
- Achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 unless otherwise specified by the program.
- Complete the program prerequisite requirements.
1Credits from MEAC or ACAHM accredited programs may be accepted for transfer midwifery programs or Acupuncture and East Asian M programs, respectively.

Application for Admission
Graduate students must submit the following materials to be considered for admissions:
- Nonrefundable application fee of $75 (The application fee is waived for current Bastyr students adding a program, Bastyr alumni with a conferred degree or certificate, and active-duty military/veterans).
- Copy of photo ID
- Personal statement
- Official transcripts from all previously attended higher education institutions
- Current resume or CV (if required by the program)
- Completion of an interview (if required by the program)

Accepting Your Offer of Admission
All applicants receive an email communicating their admission decision. For students who are admitted, an Enrollment Agreement and deposit of $200 are required to formally commit to attending the University and secure a space in the program.
- Sign your Enrollment Agreement.
- Deposits must be submitted online through the application portal and must be received within 30 days of notice of admission to guarantee a seat in the program.
- Deposits are nonrefundable.
- The deposit payment is credited to the student’s account and applied toward the initial tuition payment.
Deferring Your Acceptance
Students who have been accepted to a Bastyr program may defer their admission for up to one academic year. To defer, applicants must have completed all admissions eligibility requirements and will complete a Deferral Reactivation Application. Please contact the admissions office to confirm your deferral eligibility and for next steps.
