BO4138 Biointensive IPM and Plant Health
This class explores the principles and applications of biointensive Integrated Pest Management (IPM), which integrates ecologic and economic factors into agricultural system design and management. The primary goal of biointensive IPM is to provide guidelines and options for effectively managing pests and beneficial organisms in an ecological context and address public concerns about environmental quality and food safety. Students learn to identify and develop treatment plans for plant diseases, disorders, insect and animal pests, and weeds. Course content will be delivered in a hybrid format with online synchronous and asynchronous content and an in-person lab component.
